Marielyst offers all you can wish for: a variety of leisure activities for the whole family, sights - both cultural and entertaining, a large selection of shops with groceries, clothes and handicraft, many good restaurants and a vivid nightlife. Furthermore, the town is scenically situated and surrounded by a lovely beach, forests and a bird sanctuary.
Beach
By Marielyst you will find Denmark's longest beach with lots of space for everyone. The beach is a wide sandy beach with clear bathing water, small dunes and Blue Flag. The water is shallow at the water's edge, which makes the beach very suitable for children. An ideal place for swimming, sunbathing, walks as well as various beach activities. It is possible to find amber all along the coast of Falster. The options are especially good by the point Gedser Odde.
Nature
Right behind the long beach of Marielyst and along the eastern coast of Falster, there is the pine forest of Bøtøskoven. The forest reaches down to the cove Bøtø Nor towards north and to Gedesby towards south. The forest invites walks at all times of the year. The bird sanctuary Bøtø Nor has 2 bird gazeboes, from which you can enjoy the view of the rich bird life, the large lake, the fields, the forest of reeds and the green meadows. The impressive forest Corselitze-skovene covers an area of app. 6,000 hectares of land on the north-eastern part of Falster. Besides a beautiful beech forest and other scenic landscapes, the forest offers many relics. A part of the forest is the small forest Halskov Vænge, which contains 6 cromlechs and 72 grave mounds.

In Marielyst and the surrounding area you will find various leisure activities for the whole family. Right outside town, a riding centre, a go-cart track, a bowling alley, a golf course, a minigolf course, a diving centre, a water world and petanque courts are available.
